"we are men of action..

lies do not become us..."

i'm watching the princess bride and it's still one of the best movies i've ever seen. it's got everything! i wish there was another movie to compare to this one, not that i want it replaced, but that i want something else that makes me this happy. i'm a little greedy for good feelings.

who isn't?

i've been more than a year now since i've had a bad turn with my mental health, and i can't be more grateful. i don't know to who or why, but there it is. i have so much to be happy and thankful for, here on the verge of my birthday.

i've not attained so many of the things i thought i would have, and i haven't finished so many things..i don't know if i ever will. apparently life has other avenues picked out for me and i don't have all the say in the matter i wish i did.

if it hadn't gone this way i wouldn't be where i am today.

one thing matters more than all the others, and it's that i have love, oh do i have love. and it's more than anything i could have imagined for myself.

on my thirtieth birthday, i just want to know that i'll be able to love like i do, and be loved like i am for the rest of my life.

not so much to ask, is it? as i said, i'm greedy for this particular feeling.

i'm so happy i want to shout from the roof, but that'll have me sent to jail, so i'll just blog it.

sigh.

a roundup of one's own

1. i can't believe Major Victory was eliminated from Who Wants To Be A Superhero! Feedback's a great guy, and appealing to me as a nerd, but nonetheless, he doesn't exude the charisma of MV. If you missed WWTBAS, you're a tard. it was the best reality show ever.

problem with reality shows is that the people involved tend to take themselves too seriously. this is a show about people who dress up in costume and play superhero. by definition, they simply can't be too serious. thus, reality show nirvana. nerdvana. whatever.

2. i'm getting drunk at six in the evening on my day off this week. because i can. later, i'll probably get tarted up, wear clothes that expose several of my tats, and go try to sweettalk the mechanic who fixed my car into giving the check back. since he plays in the same band with my boyfriend, this probably won't work. but it's like chicken soup, as my old man says, it can't hurt.

3. number two was a terrible idea.

4. i'm pimping a new blog, the Amazing Craft Swap. http://www.thegloryofyarn.blogspot.com. If you make things and want to find a quality home for them, please visit me over there. i'm cold-emailing people who may be interested, crafty bloggers with the right kink in their personality. if i've left you out, email me or visit the other blog.

5. little miss sunshine is brilliant. go see it now, thank me later.

6. i remember my brother once buying a pack of cigarettes called "Boots". and i wonder if they tasted like boots.
